Why I built this

Our story

As an outdoor enthusiast who genuinely wants the most authentic nature experiences, I've struggled for years to find them. Most campsites are massive and offer little real nature at all. Wild camping is illegal in most European countries. And every time I plan a trip, I end up relying on Google Maps and a handful of separate apps just to find trails and outdoor activities in the area.

I'm not the only one. Outdoor and nature enthusiasts who want to go wildcamping, hiking, trekking, or take a survival or bushcraft course currently have no single place to plan a trip. They stitch together Google Maps, trail apps, individual campsite listings, and dozens of separate operator websites — bushcraft and survival courses especially are almost entirely fragmented across independent operator sites with no discovery layer at all. That costs hours of research, and it often means missing a nearby experience that would have made the whole trip better.

At the same time, the hosts running these experiences are struggling just as much — to reach the people who are actually looking for exactly what they offer.

WildRoots is my attempt to fix both sides of that problem: a place built specifically for camping, hiking, trekking, survival, and bushcraft — not a general booking site with an "outdoors" category bolted on. It's early. There are no bookings yet. But there's a plan, and a growing list of hosts who want to be part of it from the start.

If that sounds like you — as a host or as someone who'd rather book with a real person than a brand — I'd love to hear from you.

Our mission

Connect travellers with the outdoors, and the small operators who know it best

A Europe where every valley, forest, and ridge with a story to tell has a way to share it — and where travellers default to small, local, and authentic before they default to convenient.

What makes us different

Nature-only. Nothing else.

No hotels. No large-scale campgrounds. No standard apartments. Every experience on WildRoots is small-scale and rooted in nature — camping, hiking, trekking, survival, and bushcraft, and nothing broader than that. Most platforms are either wider than this (general tours, every kind of accommodation) or narrower (camping-only, trails-only). WildRoots is the only place bringing all five together in one spot, exclusively for nature.

What we value

The principles behind every decision

Authenticity over polish

We'd rather list a family's honest twelve-pitch meadow than a manicured resort campsite. Real land, real hosts, real skill.

Small by design

We're building this for operators whose land or attention has a natural limit — not for anyone trying to scale past it.

Trust as infrastructure

Identity checks, permit verification, and verified-booking-only reviews won't be a feature bolted on later — they're part of the foundation from day one.

Fair to the people who host

Transparent fees, fast payouts, and a platform that stays out of the way of the relationship between host and guest.
